Last days in Davis Square

Last days in Davis Square

I’m only moving across town lines to Arlington, but I’m pretty attached to my neighborhood here in Davis Square. It is still a bit hard to believe that tomorrow is my last day in my Davis apartment before I become a resident of Menotomy.

For the past year and a half, this neighborhood has been a wonderful home. If you’ve been to Davis I’m sure you can understand why–it’s a vibrant community, one of the hottest neighborhoods in Greater Boston.

(In the end I’ll only be a 15 minute walk from Davis Square, so it’s not as though I’m going very far!)

At the same time though, Arlington is definitely on the up-and-up. There are so many new restaurants in Arlington Center along Mass Ave, I imagine it’d take me at least a year to try them all. Growing up in Massachusetts I always thought of Arlington as a retiree town–to some extent it’s still true, but I’m seeing more and more young people in the area, as the rental prices are really affordable and it’s still close enough to Boston and mass transit to be an attractive option for people trying to get into Boston itself.

I’m really excited to join my new community. Next time you hear from me, I’ll be all moved in!
